Ultrasonic cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaning is a process in which due to high-frequency sound waves, vacuum bubbles arise and implode on the steel product. In this way, pollution is dissolved from the material. This is done in a mild alkaline soap solution followed by several rinsing steps. The final step is to rinse the product in filtered, demineralized water.

If necessary, products can be pickled with an acidic solution to remove oxides or strange metal from the surface. In other cases, the product surface gets stripped of organic pollution with oxidizing acids. In addition to ultrasonic cleaning we also have the competences to degrease and clean products according to various customer specifications.

In consultation with the customer we can develop and apply customer-specific cleaning methods.

MTRC has the facilities to clean and/or package products in our cleanroom (Grade 2,3 and 4 – surface cleanliness, ISO 7).
